To help maintain an acceptable level of safety and reduce the possibility of incidents, Building and Energy has developed a new fact sheet for vegetation control and saftey near powerlines.

Any vegetation control work carried out in the defined danger zone must involve personnel who are properly trained and competent, and the work must be done in accordance with the Code of practice for personnel electrical safety for vegetation control work near live power lines. The code of practice is the law and it exists to keep workers and the public safe.
