Licence renewal reminders – check your inbox not your post box

The issue of courtesy renewal reminders for industry licences or registrations by the Commissioner for Consumer Protection is now exclusively by SMS and email.
If you would like to receive renewal reminder notices, then you must keep your mobile number and email address up to date with us. While providing a secondary contact email is optional, we encourage you to do so in the event that your primary email doesn’t work.

Remember, it is your responsibility to ensure that your licence is current at all times you are performing regulated work.

Avoid lapse in coverage: submit your licence/registration renewal early

When it’s time to renew, be sure to lodge your completed application with all documentation at least one month before the expiry date. This will allow enough time for processing and any follow-up requirements relating to your application. Please note that incomplete applications will not be accepted.

If the renewal is not processed and granted by the Commissioner by the expiry date, you are no longer licensed/registered to work.

Real estate agent renewals must be approved before the expiry of the triennial certificate otherwise you must cease trading until such time as you have a valid certificate and it should be noted that fidelity fund coverage may no longer apply either.

Changed your contact info? Keep us in the loop!

When you first apply for a licence/triennial certificate, you are required to provide us with a current mobile number and email address. Over time those details may change and while it can be a challenge to remember everyone that needs your new contact details, we should be at the top of your list. If you change agencies, then you also need to advise the Commissioner within 14 days and this includes your updated contact information.

It’s easy to update your contact information online via our change of contact system, by email to Consumer Protection Licensing, or by post to:

Psst…Employers! Please encourage your staff to keep their contact details up to date with us as well.
