Please note the 12 month transition period for water meters to comply with the WaterMark certification scheme in this bulletin has been revised to 24 months. The requirement for all water meters to be manufactured to AS 3565.1:2010 and marked appropriately has now been extended to 1 August 2019.

This industry bulletin has been produced to inform the plumbing industry and relevant stakeholders of recent changes to the certification of water meters installed in plumbing systems. The changes do not include water service provider water meters (e.g. Water Corporation), which have different requirements for certification. The changes have occurred with the implementation of the improved WaterMark Certification Scheme (WMCS) by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB).
