Longer retail trading hours for public holidays in 2021

The State Government has approved four extra hours of trading for general retail shops in metropolitan Perth on each of the three public holidays of Labour Day, Easter Monday and the ANZAC Day public holiday next year.

The extension to permitted opening times means general retail shops will be able to trade any time between 8am and 6pm on Monday 1 March 2021 (Labour Day), Monday 5 April 2021 (Easter Monday) and Monday, 26 April 2021 (ANZAC Day public holiday). On Good Friday 2 April 2021 and ANZAC Day 25 April 2021, general retail shops will be closed.

Normal permitted trading hours for these public holiday Mondays are 11am to 5pm. The Minister for Commerce is able to vary public holiday general retail trading hours in the Perth metropolitan area, with the exception of Christmas Day, Good Friday and ANZAC Day.

Extended retail trading hours for the Christmas shopping period starting on Saturday, 5 December 2020 as well as for Tuesday, 26 January 2021 (Australia Day public holiday) have already been announced:
