Getting paid: information sessions on the Construction Contracts Act 2004

The Building Commission in partnership with the Master Builders Association and Jackson McDonald is hosting an information session on managing and resolving payment disputes under the Construction Contracts Act 2004 (CCA). This session is designed for subcontractors, small builders or other interested persons in the building and construction industry wishing to gain an understanding of how the CCA operates and how rapid adjudication can be used to resolve contractual payment disputes.

What the session will cover

  • the fundamentals of construction contracts;
  • what is the CCA and how does it work;
  • an overview of the rapid adjudication process; and
  • other means of resolving payment disputes.

There will also be an opportunity for questions and answers.

Construction contracts: what subcontractors need to know

The Building Commission in partnership with HHG Legal Group is hosting an information session for subcontractors on what subcontractors need to know when entering and/or managing construction contracts.

What the session will cover

  • managing your contracts;
  • critical clauses;
  • defects liability and warranties; and
  • resolving disputes.

There will be also be an opportunity for question and answers.
