Motorists in Perth and Mandurah are advised to fill up now if they need to, with petrol prices set to rise tomorrow. After today motorists will likely have to wait a week before petrol prices are again at the bottom of the price cycle.

FuelWatch reports that, from 6am tomorrow (Wednesday 4 September 2024), the average price of Perth’s regular unleaded petrol (ULP) will increase by 36 cents per litre (cpl) to 196 cpl with Ampol and Caltex hiking up to 213.9 cpl; EG Ampol, Coles Express/Reddy Express and BP up to 211.9 cpl; 7-Eleven up to 209.9 cpl; Vibe up to 209.7 cpl; and United up to 205.9 cpl.

Despite the average hike tomorrow, there are still 37 individual sites offering prices below 160 cpl, so consumers should check the FuelWatch website to find the lowest price near them. Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 67 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $40 on a 60 litre tank.

Tuesday’s cheapest ULP is available for:

  • 156.7 cpl at Vibe Upper Swan in the East;
  • 146.7 cpl at Costco Casuarina (Costco sites are membership based) and 148.7 cpl at Atlas Fuel Kwinana and Costco Perth Airport in the South; and
  • 155.3 cpl at Burk Alkimos, Burk Bassendean, Burk Landsdale, Burk Malaga, Burk West Swan and EG Ampol Greenwood in the North.

Wednesday’s cheapest ULP will be available for:

  • 157.8 cpl at Petro Fuels Swan View in the East;
  • 146.7 cpl at Atlas Fuel Kwinana and Costco Casuarina in the South; and
  • 155.3 cpl at Burk Alkimos, Burk Bassendean, Burk Landsdale, Burk Malaga, Burk West Swan and X Convenience Alkimos in the North.
