The WorkSafe Plan is an audit and assessment process that can be used to rate health and safety management systems in Western Australian workplaces. It can be used for auditing to provide information and ratings on the extent to which an organisation has implemented a systematic approach to the management of health and safety in the workplace and the extent to which an organisation is complying with some of the legislative requirements.
WorkSafe Plan Certificates of Achievement are presented at three levels:
Any workplace may use the WorkSafe Plan to review their health and safety management system, or to see how one operates. However, if you require a formal assessment of your health and safety management system, a competent person should undertake the assessment. This is a person who has undertaken training in the audit of health and safety management systems.
If you would like formal recognition of your health and safety management system, WorkSafe Plan Certificates of Achievement may be awarded to organisations providing they meet certain standards and are assessed by an independent WorkSafe Plan assessor.
Currently only those workplaces covered by the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022 (previously within the jurisdiction of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994) are able to apply .
