The State of the Work Environment (SOWE) series is produced by the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (the Department), Safety Regulation Group to promote awareness of work health and safety in Western Australia.

This report analyses data on traumatic injury fatalities in Western Australia which have been determined by the Department to be work-related (work-related fatalities). Both workers and bystanders are considered for the analysis in this report.
